Where are we?

The future of literature and writing is less than bright. The more technology shifts towards visual multimedia, the more laziness and unwillingness to read it brings along.

Over the past 15 years, growth of visual multimedia and media-oriented news has undermined and weakened the noble art of longform and word-oriented news and analysis.

For an ordinary news consumer, watching a 1-minute video is far more pleasant and requires less effort than to read an article that may take 40 seconds. Even though the content of the latter may be far richer than the 1-minute multimedia video, the consumer preference shift towards material that does not require effort to consume, has shifted towards a disappointingly low level.
